AKA-nomics
This internal component of the Extraordinary Service Program enables Rho Zeta Omega members to gain a basic understanding of economic issues and problems through 15-minute interactive discussions held during every chapter meeting. Members are actively engaged by a wealth of practical economic topics including budgeting and saving, credit reporting and credit scores, wealth building and management, and identity theft among many other financial concerns.

Black Family
The Black Family committee is charged with coordinating a network of support for a local family by tapping into the expertise and volunteerism of chapter members and available resources from community partners. The committee also supports the educational development of young Black males through partnering with male professional and fraternal organizations in Marietta and Cobb County, Georgia.

Entrepreneurship
Seeking to increase opportunities for existing business owners in Rho Zeta Omega, the Entrepreneurship committee plans an internal showcase as a means of promoting support for chapter entrepreneurs. Externally, the committee works with surrounding Metropolitan Atlanta chapters to plan Economic Smart Fairs to encourage networking and mentorship among entrepreneurs, provide information for aspiring business owners, and build community awareness about economic issues.

Mae Carter Danzy Scholarship
Established in 1988, the Mae Carter Danzy Scholarship is named for Rho Zeta Omega’s first chapter president. Since then, the chapter has awarded more than $130,000 in scholarship funds to African-American young ladies who are graduating seniors in Marietta and Cobb County schools. In addition to exceptional grade point averages, Mae Carter Danzy Scholarship awardees also demonstrate leadership in their academic and extracurricular lives and volunteer throughout the community. Our exceptional scholars have gone on to attend many of the most notable colleges and universities in the Southeast and beyond as well as pursue post-graduate degrees and enter top career fields.

Cobb Chamber Partner in Education
As a Cobb County Chamber of Commerce Partner in Education, Rho Zeta Omega serves as a resource for two Marietta City schools – Park Street Elementary and Lockheed Elementary. The chapter participates in the annual Give Our Schools A Hand celebration and Teachers of the Year luncheon. Holding a seat on Lockheed Elementary’s school council, Rho Zeta Omega is actively engaged in helping school officials improve school performance. Chapter members are called upon as guest speakers, readers, and volunteers at both partner schools.

Golden Citizens
Rho Zeta Omega has a longstanding relationship with Branson Homes and Johnny Walker Homes, both in Marietta, GA. The chapter hosts activities and outings geared towards raising our Golden Citizens’ awareness about financial and health concerns relevant to seniors while providing them with an outlet for mixing and mingling with each other and chapter members. ESP events such as Essential Strategies for Protection and Economically Speaking and Playing provide Golden Citizens with information about preventing identity theft, selecting Medicare plans, and avoiding financial scams among other topics. for Valentine's Day,Thanksgiving visit to individuals at Specialty Care of Marietta, a spring workshop with a noted health specialist, an opportunity to attend church services as the guests of golden citizens, and an Annual Christmas dinner at a local restaurant where each golden citizen received special gifts of love.

Health Committee
The Health Committee engages chapter members in activities to promote physical and mental well being. Rho Zeta Omega chapter members are charged with walking 1,908 miles or exercising 19.08 minutes each day respectively as part of Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Centennial Challenge. Additionally, Rho Zeta Omega seeks to enlighten the community about health concerns disproportionately affecting women and African Americans by participating in events such as the Universal Sisters Speaking of Women’s Health Conference and Step Out to Fight Diabetes.
